No finger break for Northamptonshire skipper Wakely
The skipper - who spent the whole of last summer on the sidelines with an Achilles injury - hurt himself when he dropped a catch during the yesterday’s play in the LV= County Championship match against Derbyshire.
He had the finger checked out today and the results showed there is no break just a great deal of swelling,

“That is obviously very good news.
“It is a bit of strange one in that the swelling is on the back of his hand.
“A catch burst through his hands and he parried it up.
“Last night it started to swell up quite badly so we had it checked out this morning.
“The impact was on the finger but the swelling is on the back of the hand.

“We are still hoping he will take part in this game but the hand is very swollen.
“We’ll have a look at it and see how he goes but until the swelling goes down a bit it is difficult to say what he wil be able to do.”
