Stanwick Lakes forced to cancel race after severe flooding
The races, in which entrants choose to run 5km, 10km or a half marathon, were to be held on Sunday, March 13.
But due to the volume of rain this week rivers around the site have burst their banks - leaving the organisers with no choice but to cancel.

“Due to the volume of rain this week rivers around the site have burst their banks, flooding many of the paths used on the run.
“The levels are such that even if there is no further rain before Sunday, they will not have subsided sufficiently to make a run possible.
“We are sorry that we have had to take this extreme, but unavoidable, measure.
