Mark's Zambia trip helps improve safety
Mark Prickett, who has worked as National Training Manager at materials handling equipment supplier Impact’s Corby branch in Brunel Road for the last 12 years, was taking part in a programme run by international development charity Transaid.
During the week, Mark, who lives in Penrhyn Close, trained ITC staff in the correct maintenance procedures for a new three-tonne Cat lift truck, delivered by Impact and donated to the programme by Cat Lift Trucks.

Hide AdSpeaking about his experience, Mark said: “I usually spend my time travelling around the UK delivering technical training for Impact, so swapping the UK for Zambia was certainly an eye-opener.
“The secondment was one of the most challenging and worthwhile experiences of my career with Impact. It was great to be able to help Transaid, and see first-hand why professional driver training is so important.
“Facing and overcoming obstacles like the language barrier were particularly rewarding – it certainly enhanced my communication skills, and made me more adaptable in my approach to training.”
Impact has supported Transaid with an annual financial contribution since pledging its support as a corporate member last year, and has made efforts to raise awareness of the charity.
