There were mixed emotions for managers Mark Cooper and Garry Hill after Saturday's derby ended all-square.
Kettering Town were left disappointed as Rushden & Diamonds celebrated a late equaliser at the A-Line Arena which meant both sides maintained their unbeaten start to the season.

Poppies boss Cooper said: "For the majority of the game we really took it to them and they are a really good team who will do well.

"We dominated the first half and we should have been out of sight. But when you play teams as good as Rushden you have to kill them off or it comes back to bite you on the backside.

"I am disappointed we haven't put our chances away but even when you don't take them you still have to defend and see the game out."

Diamonds manager Hill admitted: "We know we were fortunate to be only 1-0 down at half-time because Kettering looked good and we were poor.

"We got a response and saw things which I had expected for 90 minutes. In the second half we could and should have won the game. But at the end of the day I've got to be happy to take a point from a local derby."
