6. The World's End pub, Ecton
The pub lies on the site of a prison, which once held royal troops seized during the battle of Naseby in 1645. Their spirits are said to still lurk in the watering hole. There is also a rumour that a former barmaid killed by her suitor in a fit of jealous rage still downs her sorrows in the venue.
