Hide AdTownsend also admitted two more burglaries in Kingsthorpe and Moulton and was given three two-year sentences when he appeared at Northampton Crown Court last month.
The sentences will run concurrently which means Townsend — previously of Jubilee Crescent, Wellingborough — will serve two of the six years in prison. He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £149.
He also pleaded guilty to stealing property worth £300 from Briggs & Forrester Ltd in Kingsthorpe and £110 from Kappa Packaging in Moulton Way, during break-ins in February.
Northampton Response Officer, PC Richard Beckett, who led the investigation, said: “We welcome this custodial sentence and hope the imprisonment of Townsend will allow the community of Northampton to feel reassured that the Force is taking a hard stance on prolific offending and fighting crime.
