Leading Corby estate agents Simpson West celebrates 21st anniversary as it wins new top award
We would like to start by thanking the people of Corby and the surrounding villages for their incredible support over the last 21 years.
I am proud to have founded Simpson West and continue to work closely alongside my team on a day-to-day basis. I had worked with Andrew Simpson for many years and through our partnership, work closely with our colleagues at Simpson & Partners and Simpson & Weekley, resulting in a powerful group network throughout Northamptonshire.
From day one, we have gone from strength to strength, having established ourselves as market leaders within nine months of opening and maintaining this for the last 20 years. In 2007, our ongoing success enabled us to open the highly valued Simpson West Lettings and Property Management, which now manages over 450 properties in the local area. We also began working with mortgage specialists Wyke Financial in 2017.
Chris WestOver these 21 years, we have received many performance-related customer service awards and in the last week, have again won the prestigious ESTAS Best in Postcode award which is judged on receiving the most five-star, verified customer reviews.
As an integral part of the community, we also remain committed to supporting Corby Town FC, Great Oakley Cricket Club and various charities including Family Fund and Young Lives vs Cancer. The team will take part in the 2024 Tough Mudder event at Belvoir Castle in Grantham this July, to raise much-needed funds for these charities.
Like many businesses, we have faced unexpected challenges in the market, including the 2008 credit crunch, Brexit in 2019 and of course the pandemic of 2020, which resulted in the need to close our offices for the first time ever. However, we have dealt with these huge challenges and I have been lucky to work with some wonderful people who are highly experienced and taken it all in their stride, making sure that all our clients receive the high levels of service that are at the core of our business principles.
Being an independent agent, we have demonstrated the flexibility required to meet the needs of our local market. Our team is made up of long-serving local people who all have extensive knowledge of the areas they work in, along with a vast amount of experience within the property sector.

The property market has seen many changes over the years. When we opened at the beginning of May 2003, prices reflected where the town was at that time. As we know, since then, there has been considerable investment in the town centre development, housing growth, logistic hubs and much-improved transport and infrastructure which has attracted a considerable number of buyers from across the country – something which had not seen since people migrated to the area from Scotland to work at the Steel Works in the 1930s.
Previously unseen support has also included stamp duty holidays, the Government’s Help to Buy Scheme and much lower mortgage rates since 2009, which has enabled people to purchase their own home during difficult times.
